Countdown to Shannon and Ray’s Wedding | The Addison Grove in Austin, Texas
It is officially wedding year for Shannon and Ray, and we can’t wait to see their big day unfold next month in Austin at The Addison Grove.
We had a chance to catch up with Shannon to learn more about her engagement story with Ray and how they are feeling with their wedding weekend quickly approaching. Here is what she had to say.
Congratulations on your engagement! How and when did you meet each other, and what has life been like since?
We actually met at work! It seems as if once we met, it was a brand new chapter in our lives and we couldn't imagine not being with each other. We've been best friends ever since.
Tell us the story behind your wedding venue and date. How did you choose it?
We are getting married at the beautiful Addison Grove in Austin on March 25 (and are so excited!). I am originally from Austin, and Ray is from Maryland.
March is one of the best times of the year to be in Austin, and Ray’s family has always wanted to visit. I think it’s ironic that getting married in Austin is considered “trendy” these days, because it is where I grew up. Ray and I always talked about getting married in Austin because it is such a special place to us.
Fun fact: We booked The Addison Grove before Ray even proposed! At the time, it felt like a secret mission.
Who are some of the local vendors you are working with in Austin?
We knew that we would need a rockstar team to plan the wedding of our dreams. These are some of the vendors that are producing our wedding:
The Addison Grove is where we will get married. Diandra, Starla, and the entire team are awesome!
Ashley Nicole Affair Ashley, Amanda, Beth, and the entire team have been amazing to work with. We wouldn’t be able to do it without them!
City and Terrace Events Lauren and team are incredible! You cannot beat her attention to detail and professional expertise.
The Line Austin The Line is hosting our wedding hotel room block. It is such a cool hotel, and we can’t wait for our friends and family to be there.
Bar Peached will host our rehearsal dinner. We fell in love with their menu, and are so excited for this to be one of the first events to kick off our wedding weekend.
Emily Boone Fine Art Photographer Emily Boone is our wedding photographer and also shot our engagement photos. We love her style and couldn't believe we got her.
Cloud Craft Studios Videography Ray’s dream was to have Cloud Craft Studios shoot our wedding. Their videos are so unique and special.
Royal Fig Catering Royal Fig will cater our wedding, and we can’t wait to shock everyone with how good the food will be!
PDA Band We cared so much about getting the music right. We can't wait to see PDA Band live just for our wedding!
Premier Events, Bee Lavish, and Unique Design and Events are the companies that are providing furniture, draping, and other rentals. We can’t wait to see their designs in person.
Last but not least, Adore Makeup Salon will do hair and makeup for the bridesmaids and me.
Love what you see?
What has your favorite part of wedding planning been?
The best part is that we get to put our little touch of "us" within the wedding. We're building a phone booth where guests can record a message for our audio guest book! We also get to be creative as we want our guests to have the best time ever too.
If you could give any advice to couples that are just getting engaged and starting to plan their wedding, what would it be?
Get a wedding planner! Trust me, they are worth the investment and are helpful beyond belief.
What is something you are most excited about when you envision your wedding weekend?
Finally saying I do and just enjoying everything. We can plan and plan and plan but once people come into town, we are excited to not only get married but to have everyone we love in one single place and that means the world to us.
We can’t wait to be a part of Shannon and Ray’s wedding weekend. Congratulations, you two!
